Dorothy Mae McCullough, 93, was born June 2, 1922, in Roland, Iowa, the daughter of Isador and Emma Halverson. She passed away peacefully Monday, January 11, 2016, at Genesis Senior Living Center.
Dorothy loved gardening and sitting on her porch enjoying the outside. She had a knack for sewing, finding treasures at garage sales and flea markets and enjoyed taking car rides. One of Dorothy’s most cherished possessions was her toolbox, and her family knew it was “hands off” when it came to her toolbox! Above all else, Dorothy treasured time spent with her family.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Larry (Vicki) McCullough, Victor (Elaine) McCullough, Jim (Donna) McCullough and Annette (Dan) Lippert; her grandchildren, Rich (Tina), Mike (Molly), Tammy, Tracy, Larry and Keri Ann; other loving relatives and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold McCullough; sisters, Edna and Helen; brother, Max and her grandson, Todd.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Genesis Senior Living Center in loving memory of Dorothy.

I want to send our condolences, love and prayers to all of you at this time. I have memories of our visits, spending Christmas at the Halverson home and of seeing a hockey game at the skating rink. I remember that your mother always seemed to have a smile. I have fond memories of Uncle Harold and Aunt Dorothy. Please wrap yourselves in the white light that I am sending with love, your cousin Mickie and family

Larry, Vic, Jimmy and Annette, I was so sad to hear of your mom's passing. Aunt Dorothy was a comfort to me when my mom ( your Aunt Helen) passed away in 1998. I'll never forget cooking cherries in the backyard on Uncle Harold's BBQ with you, Annette! Your mom and dad were the best and I am proud to call them my aunt and uncle. I have thought of all of you often and am sending love and light to you and your families. I'd love to hear from all of you when things settle down a bit! Hamiltons' should have my e-mail as I had to enter it on here to send you this. Much love, Your Cousin Jane
