Dixie Lee Hutzel

Dixie Lee Hutzel, 77, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2016 at Methodist Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 16, 1938 in Des Moines to Eva and Gerald Colegrove.
Dixie married Gary Lee Hutzel on May 14, 1955 and to this union 7 children were born: Vickie (JR) Simmons, Debbie (Conrad) Harrison, Melanie (Michael) Current, Dixie Hutzel-Moll, Tammie Hutzel-Wood, Jeannie (Brett Wonderlin) Pederson and Gary D. (Sara) Hutzel.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren and sister, Dorene Steele of Bondurant.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary; parents; brother, Gerald (Bud) Colegrove; sisters, Berneice Casebolt and Sharon McClaskey.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St., Des Moines with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow services at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

You have always been one of my most beloved pen pals for life! I have and Always will, miss you!
I am at peace knowing, you are not alone. I am so happy that Uncle Gary, my Mom and all of the rest of your Family and friends are there to welcome you!
