John Pargo, 66, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016.
He was born April 2, 1949 to Jesse and Emma Pargo in Little Rock, Arkansas. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and watching football. John enjoyed being outdoors, helping with yardwork and mowing. He was always there for his family and was a very caring person. The valuable life skills he taught while helping others is a legacy he leaves for his family.
John is survived by his children, Nevin Pargo, Konsetta (Joe) Woods, Jeaneen Green, and Emmie (Bryan) Jones; grandchildren, London, A’Lontae, Daeneen, Jaedon, Terrance, Emri, Braydan, I’Leisha, and Lay’Keya; great-granddaughter, Neveah; and great-grandsons, Imari and Allijha. He is also survived by his siblings, Willie (Mary) Pargo, Roosevelt (Diane) Pargo, Sally (Jerome) Vann, Juanita (Clint) Jones, Alfreda (David) Miller, Jesse Pargo, and Angela (David) Alcox; many cherished cousins and other loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his granddaughter, Kayla.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., with funeral service at 11 a.m., Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Interment will take place Monday, January 11 at 9:30 a.m. at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
