Mary Jo Atkinson

Mary Jo Atkinson, 73, passed away Friday, October 26, 2007, at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House in Des Moines, Iowa. Mary Jo was born July 23, 1934 in Keokuk, Iowa.
She is survived by her daughter, Allane Savage Simmons; grandson, Michael Simmons; great grandson, Jordan Simmons of Newbern, Tennessee. Also survived by her son, Lyle Archer; granddaughter, Elizabeth Darnell of LaGrange, Missouri. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred A. Jannings and Russell R. Jannings.
Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 29, 2007 at Union Park Health Services, 2401 East 8th Street, Des Moines, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Taylor House Hospice, 3401 East Douglas, Des Moines, Iowa 50317.
