Paul M. Ramirez, 86, passed away at Kavanagh House in Des Moines on Saturday, December 26, 2015.
He was born June 2, 1929 in Aurora, Illinois. Paul graduated from East High School in Des Moines and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Iowa Methodist Medical Center. He enjoyed dancing, music, films, and watching sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Ignacia Ramirez and sister, Jovita Ramirez. He is survived by niece, Evelyn M. Ramirez.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., with funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Diocese of Des Moines Seminarian Fund.

I had the privilege of working with Paul at Iowa Methodist as a new graduate nurse from IMH. That was over 40 years ago. I just remember how kind and helpful he was to me as a "newbie". I recognized his picture. My sympathies to his family and may he rest in peace.
