John Richard Titus

John Richard Titus, 81, died Wednesday, December 23, 2015, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born May 8, 1934, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Wilbur and Mable Titus. John graduated from East High School and was a member of Capitol Hill Lutheran Church. John was in the Iowa National Guard and he was a 50 year member of Masonic Grand Lodge of Iowa. John was the co-owner of Huxley Superetta and then went to work for Dahl’s Foods, where he retired.
John was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David and James. Surviving are his three children, Todd Titus, Tommy Titus, and Teri Baker; seven grandchildren, Taylor (Crystal) Baker, Jonathan (Brooke) Baker, Kyra Akers, Chad and Josh Titus, Jami Yoder, and Shelly Gralewski; six great-grandchildren; and former wife and friend, Norma Titus.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 4th at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 5th at Capitol Hill Lutheran Church, 511 Des Moines Street, Des Moines with interment to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for the future purchase of a headstone.

So sorry to learn of John's passing. Worked with him for Dahl's, we had a lot of good talks and jokes together. John had a wonderful sense of humor. Teri, your Dad was a very good man, and will be remembered by many. RIP my friend
