Muriel Kain

Muriel, 65, was born August 1, 1950 to Leroy and Dorrine Kain in Keokuk, Iowa. She passed away at Manor Care on Tuesday, December 22, 2015.

Muriel went to nursing school at Grandview College and received her BA from Upper Iowa University and became an RN. After nursing school she continued on as a supervisor for Blue Cross Blue Shield, and also retired from there. She loved her family and her grandchildren very much. Muriel also enjoyed the warm weather, the ocean, tracking her heritage, camping, and boating.

Muriel is survived by her children, Amy Rankin and Chad (Lisa) Rankin; grandchildren, Joshua Blacksmith, Brittney (Dustin) Graul, Libbey Rankin, and Levi Rankin; Mother, Dorrine Kain; sisters, Karolyn (Brian) Marsh and Ellen. She was preceded in death by her father, Leroy Kain and her aunt and uncles.

Visitation will be held on January 9, 2016 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, Iowa.
