Marie I. Stuber
December 21, 2015
Marie I. Stuber went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 20, 2015, with her family by her bedside. Marie was born September 15, 1929, in Des Moines, Iowa. After living in Des Moines her entire life, Marie relocated to Arkansas to be in the care of her daughter Kathy in June of this year.
Marie was a proud graduate of East High Class of 1948. She was employed by the United States Dept. of Agriculture for over 30 years. In 1948, Marie was united in marriage with August “Bud” Deever. From their union they had four children, Kathy, Buddy, Ricky, and Nancy. “Bud” went home to be with the Lord in 1964. Marie was united in marriage with Lloyd Stuber in 1975. This union brought two more boys into the family, Jim and John.
Marie enjoyed doing many crafts like sewing, needle work, and plastic canvas. She had many blue ribbons from the Iowa State Fair for her “handy work.” Marie was devoted to her family. There was nothing she would not do to be at all the events. She loved to travel and see the beauty of the world.
Marie will be greatly missed by her children, Kathy Welch in Malvern, AR, Bud Deever in Grand Prairie, TX, Ricky (Mary) Deever in Des Moines, Nancy Deever in Hillsboro, OR, Jim (Linda) Stuber in Des Moines, and John (Julie) Stuber in St. Charles, IA; sister, Mary Ann Freeland in Des Moines; 10 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren with two more on the way.
Marie was greeted at Heaven’s gates by her 1st husband, Bud Deever, 2nd husband, Lloyd Stuber; brothers, Harold and Robert Fitchett; sister, Margaret Mann; her loving parents, Hazel and Robert Fitchett; and daughter-in-law, Sue Deever; as well as countless other family and friends.
A celebration of Marie’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2015, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, IA. Following the service, please join the family for a reception at Union Park Grace Fellowship Church, 832 Grandview Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50316.

So sorry for your loss. She had a beautiful soul, and appreciated so many things about life. I only knew her through the Bailey family, and she immediately brought a warm feeling to my soul. She is now with Jesus. Love and strength to your family.
