Alfred “Glen” Thomas was born February 3, 1928 in Missouri Valley, Iowa to Alfred and Nellie Thomas. He passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Cox Medical Center in Branson, MO at the age of 87.
Glen was a resident of Missouri Valley, IA and the Des Moines area for many years. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1946 – 1947 at worked as Weatherization Coordinator for Polk County.
He is survived by his wife, Elladean and his daughters, Cindy Skillman and Martina Nelson. Grandchildren, Willie Nelson, Jenny Manser, Tiffany Skillman, and Nikki Skillman. Great grandchildren, Payton Nelson, Kole Manser, Brock Manser, Cade Nelson, Kenzie Nelson and Emma Manser.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Mary Thomas and brothers Don and Howard.
There will be a graveside committal service Monday, December 28th at 10 a.m. at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.

The world has lost a great and honorable man ! Harvest Assembly will miss Glen Thomas and more than that I will miss him! I loved his attitude , his passion for God, ,Country and his beautiful family! It is my opinion that to know Glen Thomas was to understand why his generation is called the greatest generation of Americans ! God speed my friend ! You made it ! Heaven is truly blessed to have you! Love, prayers and strength to Elladean and all the family during this home going !

My thoughts and prayers are with Glen's family and especially my Aunt Elladean. I didn't know Glen very well but I do know he made my aunt very happy. He was always very nice to my sister and I. My family and I always enjoyed visiting with him and Aunt Elladean.

I have great memories of Uncle Glen and all the laughs he gave us when he and Ellie would come visit to Papa and Mom-mom's house :-) Now He is Free of pain and reunited with his brothers and best of all with Jesus! I'm Praying for Ellie and the family <3
