Margaret J. "Joan" Tiffany

Margaret J. “Joan” Tiffany passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Mercy Hospital with her loving family beside her. Joan was born on April 13, 1944 in Mitchellville, Iowa to Margaret (Hayes) and Lewis Ward.

Joan attended from Drake and worked for many years at Mercy Hospital as a medical assistant to Dr. Willard Hayne and Dr. Daniel Crowley. She left her job to raise her two children and afterwards went to work for Iowa Periodicals as a Sales Rep. Joan went to Time Warner Publications as an Assistant Sales Manager. She also worked for Curtis Distributers where she was the District Sales Manager who covered Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota. There was a lot of traveling but she enjoyed it. She retired from Curtis in December of 2008. In her downtime, Joan enjoyed being on her computer and a good book. Most of all Joan loved traveling with her husband, Irving. Together they traveled 49 of the 50 states along with all the Provinces of Canada.

A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. noon on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street in Des Moines. Family will greet friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Those left to cherish her loving memory are her husband, Irving; son, Brandon and daughter, Sharla (Al); granddaughter, Sarah; brother, Lanny Ward; and other loving family and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Betty White and daughter in-law, April.
