Marilyn Hotchkiss

Marilyn E. Hotchkiss was born March 8, 1937 in Des Moines to Herbert and Ellen McDaniel. She passed away December 16, 2015 at Prairie Assisted Living at the age of 78.
Marilyn was a secretary in the test kitchen at Meredith Corporation for many years. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. Marilyn enjoyed crafts, quilting, sewing, volunteering and cooking.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Keith; daughter Carla (Ken) Horner; sons, Charles (Linda) Hotchkiss and Anthony Hotchkiss; grandchildren, Jeffrey Horner, Jason (Beth) Horner, James (Amanda) Horner, Jeremy Brown, Jennie Brown, Jennifer (Sang) Nguyen, Ryan (Becky) Hotchkiss, Amber (Derek) Gordon and Aric Hotchkiss; great-grandchildren, Caitilin, Cailey, Andrew, Meredith, James, Jacob, Ely, Emilee, Parker, Jocelynn, Payten and Ryker; brother, Verl McDaniel; and a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Carol Elaine and Kathy Marie; parents, Herbert and Ellen; and daughter-in-law, Laurie Hotchkiss.
The family will greet friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 3820 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the church followed by burial at Avon Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in loving memory of Marilyn.

So sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing. She was very kind to me as my neighbor for many years. I know she will be missed by many.

We loved to see her and Uncle Keith when they came out to California.
