Dixie Lee Heimbaugh, 73, passed away December 9, 2015. Services will be held Sunday, December 13, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will occur one hour prior.
Dixie was born October 14, 1942 to Mae (Shuff) and Ralph Baker in Warren County, IA. She worked in the food service department at East High School for many years as a lunch lady. She greatly enjoyed her job and thought of all the children as “her kids”.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald Heimbaugh; children, Jeff, Theresa (Ron) Dake, Larry (Lori), and Melinda (Willis) Bales; brothers, Charles and David Baker; 9 grandchildren, Ricky Dake, Randy Dake, Ryan Dake, Jeremy Heimbaugh, Emily Heimbaugh, Tasha Garlick, Trevor Heimbaugh, Vance Bales and Justin Bales; 3 great-grandchildren, Tanner, Camden, and Kendel; and daughter-in-law, Pam. Dixie was predeceased by her parents; son, Jerry; sister, Charlotte; and granddaughter, Amber Heimbaugh.

I am so sorry to hear that Dixie had passed away. I will always cherish the memories we had when they were on the farm and your wedding. May God bless you and the family.

I was so sad to see Dixie's obituary in the paper. I taught at East High and loved being greeted by Dixie in the lunchroom. She always was so friendly and always had a smile on her face. She was such a loving person. Her family will be in my prayers.
