Kristopher Slater, 43, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 at his home in Urbandale.
Kristopher was born April 20, 1972. He enjoyed taking care of his grandchild and playing with his daughter.
Kristopher is survived by his fiancé, Laura Freeman; their daughter, Sabree Slater; step-children, Kevin, Heather, and David Houghman; step-granddaughter, Leah Smith; his mother, Karen Slater; brother, Kevin Slater; and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Fran.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Hamilton’s to help with final arrangement expenses.

Kris and I have shared many years together. I have seen him at his worst and feel as though I lead him to his best. He was definitely his own person and tried hard to be accepted by everyone for who he was. Not many saw that Kris truly had a heart of gold. I know talking to his Grandma Fran that she believed in him and she was thankful that he had changed his ways. He will be forever in my heart and I will make sure that our daughter knows just how truly great he actually was. I love you Kris with everything I am.

Oh kris i loved you my friend you are a big part of my childhood memories im soooo sad i havnt stayed in contact i think of you all the time tried to get ahold of you yesterday on fb but i was to late you left us way too soon brother and im so heartbroke love you and my prayers are with you as you go home and your family as they greive love.
