Julia Moore

Julia Moore, 83, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at her home in Des Moines.

Julia was born May 30, 1932 in Summit, Illinois. She married John C. Moore in 1950. Julia treasured her family and enjoyed spending time with her friends, family and neighbors. She like gardening and yardwork and took pride in her home. Julia was primarily a homemaker, but she gave of her time selflessly to many causes and organizations. She was a Cub Scout, Girl Scout, and 4-H Group leader. She made costumes for dance school and for the Des Moines Playhouse. She also made uniforms for the Des Moines Tech High School Drill Team. With what spare time she had, she volunteered at Bidwell Riverside Center. Her loving and giving nature is one of her many legacies that she leaves for her family.

Julia is survived by her children, Susie Moore, Jim (Priscilla) Moore, Ken (Barbara) Moore, Patrick (Lynn) Moore, and JoAnna (Ray) Pudans; grandchildren, Miguel Burriola, Andrew Moore, Kevin Moore, Jeff Moore, Ryan Moore, Julie Moore, Alexander Pudans, Kaitlyn Pudans, and Madeline Pudans.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Moore and her brothers, Hugh Bryce, Roland Bryce, and Walt Bryce.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 11th, funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 12th, both at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
