Ruby Mae Liggett

Ruby Mae Liggett, 80, passed away Friday, December 4, 2015 with her loving family by her side.

Ruby, the daughter of Wilbert and Georgia Kline, was born on November 3, 1935 in Des Moines, IA. She lived in Des Moines the majority of her life. She enjoyed warm weather and lived in Scottsdale, AZ. for a while and also wintered in Harlingen, TX. for over 20 years. Ruby dearly loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling and liked going to casinos. She had a talent for crafts and floral designing. She was an animal lover with compassion for all living creatures.

Ruby is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 63 years, Gene Liggett; her daughters, Judy (Bob) Hoffman and Pam (Tim) Hoffman; grandchildren, Gena (Andy) Wadle, Rob Hoffman, Tim (Erika) Hoffman and Danielle (John) Russo; great-grandchildren; Maile Adamovicz, Robbie Hoffman, Luciano Russo, Milana Russo and Ophelia Hoffman; her brother, Butch (Sharon) Kline; her sisters, Shirley Scott and Betty Wagner; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Georgia Kline; sister Barbara Flagg and two nephews, Daniel “Butchie” and Dean Kline.

Ruby will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Avon Cemetery with a Celebration of Life reception to follow at Christ the King, 5711 SW 9th Street in Des Moines.
