Sharon Golbuff, 76, was born in Forest City, Iowa on May 2, 1939, the daughter of LuVerne and Myrtle Larson. She passed away on November 16, 2015, at Kavanagh Hospice on 56th Street in Des Moines.

Sharon graduated from Crystal Lake High School. She was a woman of strong faith and was currently a member of Polk City United Methodist Church. Prior to moving to Polk City, she was a member at Crystal Lake United Methodist Church where she spent her childhood years, as well as West Bend United Methodist Church. Sharon was a great support to the churches’ youth groups and was an active member of the United Methodist Women.

Sharon enjoyed spending time at the Polk City Senior Center and was a member of the Women’s Book Club in Polk City. She also enjoyed a wide variety of flowers, gardening, and birdwatching. Above all else, she treasured her family and loved attending her grandchildren’s various activities.

Sharon is survived by her sons, Brad Golbuff, Tim (Kimberly) Golbuff, and Dan (Mai) Golbuff; grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Jacob and Samantha Golbuff; brother, Tom (Karen) Larson; and a host of other family and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary; and an infant daughter.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015, at Polk City United Methodist Church, 1421 W. Broadway Street in Polk City. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Crystal Township Cemetery in Crystal Lake, IA. The family will receive visitors Thursday evening at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Kavanagh Hospice on 56th or Polk City United Methodist Church in loving memory of Sharon.
