Ricardo Hernandez, 89, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015 at his home.

Ricardo was born May 4, 1926 in Mexico to Antonio and Severania Hernandez. He had lived in Des Moines for almost 70 years. Ricardo retired from Ford Motor Company.

Ricardo is survived by his daughters, Enedelia (Jaime) Blanco and Rita (Marcelino) Daniel; son-in-law, Gary Gray; grandchildren, Tony (Melissa) Gray, Michelle Gray, Melissa (Cory) Bougher, Danielle (Roberto) Daniel and Dawnelle (Mike) Lopez; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Amalia; special caretaker of 10 years, Seka Ribic; and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie and daughter, Susan Gray.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th Street followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery. The family will greet friends Monday, November 23rd from 5 to 7 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
