Hazel M. Fisher

Hazel Marguerite Fisher, 90, was born November 20, 1924 in Des Moines, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Campbell) Peterson. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Taylor Hospice House.

Hazel married Don Fisher in January 1947. She enjoyed her time working with her husband in their bakery, carrying on that love of baking and cooking for her family all of her life. She worked for the Des Moines Public Schools for many years.

Hazel will be greatly missed by her three sons, David (LaVay) Fisher, Dale (Denna) Fisher and Danny (Kim) Fisher, all of Des Moines; daughter, Judy Davis of Des Moines; step-daughter, Marjorie Kephart of Colfax; her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as her many other extended family and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Charles; husband, Don; sons, Terry and Douglas; daughter, Betty Lou Wyatt; great-grandson, James Cogley; sisters, Betty Richey and Maude Peterson and her brother, Charles Peterson.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2015, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Hazel for a memorial fund to be determined later.
