John Constant, Jr., 75, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.
John was born September 1, 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa to John Sr. and Alice (Wright) Constant. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963, stationed for a time in Germany. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed playing video games and fishing in the Raccoon River. John’s hobbies included bike riding and he also enjoyed rebuilding bicycles.
John is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Max) Cox and Lorie (Michael Hillsenbeck) Constant; grandchildren, Ashley, Zachary, Michael, Michelle, Kathleen, and Amanda; great-granddaughter, Sara; siblings, James Constant, Sr., Virginia Constant, and Mary (David) VanHorn; and his nieces, Kimberly Nau, Melissa Constant, Erin Callahan, and Amy Purscell. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Alice Constant; nephew, James Constant, Jr.; niece, Robin Callahan; and sister-in-law, Belva Constant.
According to John’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

I remember when we were kids and Dad took us fishing down on Raccoon and we almost walked in to on coming path of a not so nice snake ,and dad had to take care of it so we would not get bit.Anyway may you walk your raccoon and be happy.Love You

RIP uncle John you will be missed but not forgotten. We were pretty close with you picking me up on the weekend to spend time with you and your girls! We'll always remember the time at the river! Love always!
