Lloyd Ohland

Lloyd Ohland, 79, left this life in his home surrounded by family on November 11, 2015. Lloyd was born in Grinnell, Iowa on August 5, 1936. He graduated from Altoona High School and was employed for 24 years at Bookey Pack. Lloyd spent the rest of his years self-employed laying concrete. He met the love of his life, Dianna and the two were married July 22, 1955, until her passing in 2009. Lloyd was a true work-aholic still “supervising” at the young age of 79. Lloyd also enjoyed raising horses and trail riding across the country with friends.

A memorial visitation will be held, Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 5-7pm at Hamilton’s Funeral Home in Altoona, 105 4th Street SW.

Those left to cherish Lloyd’s memory include his children, Sherry (Gary) Beattie of Runnells, Carrie (Steve) Gulling of Altoona, Mary Ohland of Des Moines and Larry (Laurie) Ohland of Bondurant; grandchildren, Mandy (Aaron) Johnson, Sandy (Josh) Vander Weerdt, Lindsay (Lonnie) McLain, Ryan Ohland, Kelly Beattie, Maggie Gulling, Kory Beattie and Kelsey Gulling; great-grandchildren, Kooper Beattie, Camryn Ohland, Karson Vander Weerdt, Gage Ohland Hallie Vander Weerdt, Julia Johnson, Owen Johnson, Holdyn Beattie, Kolby Vander Weerdt and another on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dianna Vee Ohland; sister-in-law, Deanna Lee Cross; sister, Dorothy Young.
