Kathy Jayne

Kathy (Wadsworth) Jayne, 58, passed away at her home on November 12, 2015. Kathy was born April 23, 1957 in Des Moines to Robert and Patricia (Thornton) Wadsworth.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 21 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, IA. Family will greet visitors one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will take place at Berwick Cemetery immediately following the funeral.

A lifelong resident of Des Moines, Kathy was also a strong believer in Jesus and was a child of God. She was a very loving woman and was always taking in stray animals who needed her care and love. She was a handy woman, always fixing or repairing things that needed fixed. She was good with her hands and working with tools.

Kathy was very wise, funny, strong, and independent. She was always finishing sentences and reading other’s minds. She loved listening to music and singing, and was a published poet and artist. She was even on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine in 1975.

Kathy loved her family, and some of the special moments family will remember were fishing with her nephew Brian, who was like a son to her, and watching the ID channel with Tracy.

Left to cherish Kathy’s memory are her children, Tracy, Kendra, Spencer, Angie and Tommy; grandchildren, Brittany, Tyler, Hillary, Conner, Kaiden, Brooklyn, Divinity, Jeremiah and Jaidyn; nieces and nephews, Brandy, Brian, Brad, Brett, Angie, Shelly, Lindsay and Cole; and many great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Patricia; and her siblings, Craig and Brenda.
