Wilbur St. John

Wilbur “Bid” St. John, 76, died Tuesday, October 23, 2007. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday,
October 26, 2007 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, with visitation from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Wilbur was born March 2, 1931 in Omaha. He was a member of the Indianola Heights Evangelical Free Church in Des Moines. He loved dogs, watching and feeding birds and squirrels, gardening and cross-word puzzles. He also enjoyed table games with the family young and old, poetry, hunting and fishing, and visiting with friends and family.
Bid is survived by his wife Edith of 56 years; three sons, Rick, David, and Donald; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret
Ellenwood, Dorothy King, and Marilyn Podany. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul; parents, Seth and Melissa St. John; sister, Doneta Gardner; brother Robert St. John, and granddaughter Toni.
