Richard Juergens passed away on November 7, 2015, at the age of 91. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on March 7, 1924, the son of Oscar and Edna (Towner) Juergens.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his daughter, Dixie L. Hand. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Juanita; son, Gary (Donna) Juergens; daughter, Gayrene (Dave) Ledford; son-in-law, James F. Hand; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Peoria Cemetery in Maxwell, Iowa.

The memories of my father are wonderful and he will be missed in so many ways. We were apart by distance but together in so many other ways. We are in this life but a mere moment but will see each other in the eternities

Oh Mr. J. I'm so sad to see you go but so happy you're no longer suffering. My parents lived next door to you for over 20 years. You were like a bonus grandpa. I enjoyed hearing stories from when you were younger...oh and the story about the Monkey buried in the back yard. I wish so much that you wouldn't have forgotten us in the last few years...but I know you always knew we loved you because you trusted us no matter what. I love you and Juanita so much. Until we meet again...??

Richard was my first boss when I joined the Air Guard. Was with him until his retirement. Great man and done everything to perfection He will truly be missed

I worked with RO for years. He was a Brillant Metalogist, Every job was accomplished with perfection. Great Man!! He taught personnel under him to do job by his standards.Many fond memories.
