Sharolyn R. Wilson

Sharolyn Rae (Hogle) Wilson, better known as Sherry, was born June 10, 1943 in Clarion, Iowa, the daughter of Rudy and Veronica Hogle. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospital.

Every year since 2004 Sherry and Larry would load up the camper, the pups and head south to escape the Iowa winter and soak up the warmth of Texas, Arizona and Nevada. If you asked her where the casinos were along the way she could tell you exactly where to go and if she won or lost. She enjoyed family gatherings, gardening, taking photos and sharing stories about the adventures she and Larry had on their travels. Sherry was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.

Sherry’s memory will be cherished by her loving husband of 52 years, Larry Wilson; children, Shelly Wilson Greer of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Todd (Pam) Wilson of Johnston, IA and Tracy Wilson of Des Moines, IA; her grandchildren Abbie (Woodie) Bonds of Kansas City, MO, Molly Onken of Baltimore, MD and Zoe Wilson of Johnston, IA; great granddaughter Violet Bonds; her siblings, Michael (Nancy) Hogle of Manteca, CA, and Tony (Kathy) Hogle of Clarion, IA; nephews and nieces, in addition to other loving relatives and special friends.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, IA. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2015 at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Avenue, Des Moines, IA. Internment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, 508 NW 54th Ave. Des Moines, IA.
