Harley Farnum, 25, died Sunday, November 1, 2015 as the result of injuries sustained in a car accident.

Harley was born June 21, 1990 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was employed by Wyckoff Heating and Cooling. Harley enjoyed hunting, fishing, and throwing knives. He collected eagles and passed the time playing Frisbee golf. The pride and joy of his life was his daughter Dakota. He loved taking her to the park and spending time goofing off with her.

Harley is survived by his daughter, Dakota Lynn; his girlfriend and mother of Dakota, Caleen Guffey; father, Earl Farnum; siblings, Dustin Simerson, Lacey Farnum, Alexander (Katey) Farnum, and Jazzmyne Cook; grandparents, Earl and Naomi Farnum and Sandra Simerson; uncle Merle Farnum; biological mother, Christine (William) Cook; great-grandparents, Jack and Sue Hesseltine; and great-aunt, Gloria Simerson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Candace Farnum; brother, Ethan Farnum, nephew, Jayden Bryan; and great-grandparents, Don and Mary Smith.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 5, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 6, also at Hamilton’s.
