Luella Freed

Luella Freed died Monday, October 22nd at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Friday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with burial following at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Luella was born November 6, 1922 to Thomas and Marie Cook in Des Moines where she spent her entire life. She was a member of Ft. Des Moines Open Bible Church and had worked as a bookkeeper for Wolf’s Women’s Apparel and The Des Moines Club. Throughout her life, Luella had many health problems but always kept a bright outlook and a good sense of humor.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Barbara (James) DeHeck of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; infant son, David; and two brothers, Thomas Edward and Raymond Cook.
