Patricia Ann Daye

Patricia Ann Daye was born on October 27, 1940, in Des Moines, IA and passed away at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC. She was 75. Today she’s back home!

Patricia was one of seven children born to Thomas and Everdell McGregor. She grew up in Des Moines and attended D.M. Technical High School. For 14 years, she worked as an optician for Dr. Jeffery Koenen at 801 Eye Care Center. She loved getting to know all of the patients and truly had a passion for what she did.

Patricia loved to shop. She also collected antique Coca-Cola products and monkeys. Patricia was full of love, had a bold personality, and was devoted to her family and her faith.

Pat married the love of her life, Lewis Hunter Daye, on February 29, 1964. He preceded her in death in 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Stephen and Kenneth; one sister, Beverly; two sons, Larry and Anthony; and two daughters, Vonzeal and Stephanie.

She is survived by her daughters, Traci (Robert) Kennedy and Ivy (Darren) Magner; seven brothers, Clyde (Donna) McGregor, Don (Joyce) McGregor, Tim (Pearl) McGregor, Johnnie (Leta) McGregor, Bobbie McGregor, Tim McGregor, and Scotty (Anita) McGregor; five sisters, Annette (Larry) Graves, Sherry McGregor, Donna (Shane) Kittrell, Jody (William) Smith, and Lana (Paul) Ford; seven grandchildren, Lewis Michael (Meagan) Daye, KK (Justin) Nichols, Alecia Daye, Hunter Kennedy, Reed Magner, Patrick Kennedy, and Regan Magner; and three great grandchildren, Lewis Hunter Daye, Jacelyn Daye, and Payton Bushaw.

Services will be on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Cornerstone Family Church; 3114 SW 61st Street, Des Moines, IA. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the funeral service at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
