Ruth Kamerick

Ruth (Susie) Hesseltine Kamerick went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 28, 2015. She was 82 years old.

Ruth was born on November 27, 1932 in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Fred and Erma Hesseltine. She married Floyd Kamerick in 1958 and to this union a daughter and son was born. Ruth retired from Mercy Hospital in 1987 but continued to enjoy part time employment at the McDonalds in Waukee for many years later. Ruth cherished her many friends and activities at church, especially her Immanuel Sunday school class.

She is survived by her son, Jack (Sheila) Kamerick; seven grandchildren, Summer Hartman, Katie (K.C.) Redmon, Constance (Jacob) Jones, Abbie Dixson, Stephanie Dixson, Nate Kamerick, Shelby Kamerick; five great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Chloe, Gabe, Emmy, Brody, and Aria; brother, Lester (Doris) Hesseltine; half-sister, Betty Jolly. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, daughter Tina, two brothers, and a sister.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 5 to 7 pm at First Federated Church, 4801 Franklin Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa, with funeral services on Monday, November 2, at 10:30 at the church. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
