Michael Dennis Soloman

Michael Dennis Soloman, 52, died on October 26, 2015. Visitation will be held Friday, October 30, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA with the funeral service on Saturday, October 31 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 23932 Meadow Road in Adel, IA. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Grimes, IA.

Michael was born May 2, 1963 to Jackie and Larry Soloman in Des Moines, IA. He graduated from SE Polk High School and worked various jobs including long-time employment at MidAmerican Energy, and most recently for PAR Electric, as a lineman. He was a member of the IBEW Local 55. Michael was kind hearted, friendly and always willing to help others. Michael found the love of theatre and volunteered by building sets for various local groups. He was a devoted Minnesota Vikings fan and loved to spend time with family and friends. He had a passion for boating, traveling, and attending Broadway musicals.

His memory will be treasured by his family; his wife, Kathy Soloman; parents, Jackie and Larry Soloman; his daughters, Ashley Soloman, Stephanie (Steve) Knoll, and Jessie Soloman; step-daughters, Megan and Amanda Shetterly; and his sister, Margo (Dirk) Swanson and their children, Kelsey, Daniel and Kate Swanson. Michael was preceded in death by his infant brother, Matthew; and his grandparents, Andrew Olson, Simone McDannel, and Gerald and Velma Soloman.
