Sheri Lynn (Strait) Dunagan
October 25, 2015
Sheri Lynn (Strait) Dunagan, 66, was born December 10, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Willson and Agnes (Dezonno) Strait. She was adored by so many family and friends alike. She had a beautiful smile that radiated from her heart; she was as lovely inside as she was out.
Sheri was a proud graduate of East High School. She retired from Alliance Realty where she worked in the accounts receivable department for 15 years. She loved her family above all else. She enjoyed spending time with her son and her grandchildren, and her yellow lab, Max had a special place in her heart. Sheri loved the Iowa State Fair and worked at the fair every summer for over 50 years. She enjoyed going out to dinner with her family and always appreciated a good meal and a good martini.
Sheri passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, October 25, 2015, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
There will be a celebration of Sheri’s life from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 2, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
Sheri is survived by her son, Michael (Karla) Dunagan; grandchildren, Michael W. Jr. and Genevieve Elaine; brothers, Woody Strait and Michael (Cathy) Strait; nieces, Nicole Strait, Lisa (Zack) Boisselle, Traci Strait, and Mikki Jo (Steve) Gibson; and her great-nieces and nephew, Samantha, Sophia, and Joey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willson “Skinny” and Agnes Strait.

Sherri was not only a friend but was a very loyal friend. Her friends and family were her life and she would have your back, no matter what. I had the privilege to tell her that before she passed. For that I am thankful.

Farewell to my sweet Sheri. You were loved by so many people. Your big heart, your sense of fun, and your love of family will be sorely missed. You spoiled Lisa and Nicole so much that I had to ask you to stop. But, lol, that sure didn't work out. I will miss you for the rest of my life. Love you, sis.
