Larry Williams, age 61, passed away peacefully at his home, October 25, 2015 in Des Moines, with his family at his side.
He was born October 19, 1954 in Augusta, Georgia to Jim and Jean Williams. Larry graduated from Lincoln High School before obtaining his civil engineering degree from Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo.
His love of sports started at a young age while playing baseball at Fort Des Moines Little League. He became an avid Chicago Cub and Iowa Hawkeye fan. Larry enjoyed golfing and playing the guitar.
Larry met the love of his life Sandy Smith and the two were wed on August 21, 1982, from this union his pride and joy was born, his daughter, Nicole. He spent many years watching and coaching her softball teams.
Many will remember Larry from his years managing Army Post Mow and Snow.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 33 years, Sandy; daughter, Nicole (Matt) Hemping; granddaughter, Riley; parents, Jim and Jean Williams; siblings, Terry (Cathy) Williams, Dan (Deborah) Williams and Judy (Randy) Lyons.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held October, 31, 2015 from 2-5 pm at 6809 NW 84th Ave in Johnston Iowa.

We are very sorry for your loss, Love to all your family members at this time. I will allways remember him running around at thanksgiving at Grandma and Grandpa William's house. We all had a lot of fun. God Bless You Larry William's, you will surely be missed.
