Elwood "Wes" Brown

Elwood Westley Carroll Brown, of Des Moines, passed away surrounded by his family's love on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at his home. Elwood was born on August 4, 1965 in Des Moines to Miner and Edna Brown.

Wes worked for many years at Sam’s Riverside Tire as a mechanic and tire technician. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and a gun enthusiast. Wes enjoyed his many hours at the casino. He will be remembered for his love of gardening. Above all else he lived for his family, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Diona; children, Steven (Jen), Danielle (Bill) and Adam (Emily); grandchildren, Austin, Kelly, Madison, Mia and Quinton; parents, Miner and Edna; siblings, Sissy (David), Regina (Eric), Tom (Faith), Allen and Scott (Bambi); and other family and beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Lee Town Assembly of God Church, 2720 State Avenue in Des Moines. Family will greet visitors starting at 9 a.m. at the church on Thursday. He will be laid to rest at Laurel Hill Cemetery following services.
