Rosemarie Flatt

Rosemarie Flatt, 71, went home Friday, October 16, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Rosemarie was born October 11, 1944 in Des Moines. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy and remained a loyal Catholic; recently attending St. Ambrose Cathedral. She met the love of her life, James Oliver, at 4 years old and later was united in marriage to him on June 8, 1962 only to be separated by his death in June 2001. Rosemarie spent several years residing in Long Beach, California.

Left to cherish Rosemarie’s memory are her children, John (Amanda) Flatt of Georgia, Frances Marie Flatt of Des Moines and Jamie (David) Ann Harris of Des Moines; her sister, Betty Ivanovich; 19 grandchildren, John (Lacey), Falisha (James), Latosha (Tommy), William Junior (Kietta), Catherine (Jordan), Willnesha (Marken), DeDe, Diamond, Darrio, Damir, Jashawn, Tieshawn, Tayshawn, Cartier, Caliyah, Caley, Jennifer, Jerome, Jerrica, Jarron, and Jeremy and 48 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mable Stanfel; her brothers, John, Matthew and Robert Stanfel; her sisters, MaryBelle Vermeer and JoAnn Stanfel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at St. Ambrose Cathedral, within the chapel, in Des Moines. Family will greet guests from 8:30 until the time of service at the church.
