Jerald Snedden

Jerry was born May 25, 1943 to Pearl (Healy) and William Snedden in Des Moines, Iowa. He spent his younger years in Iowa before relocating to California, where Jerry started his career as a machinist. He retired in 2008 from Eagle Iron Works in Des Moines.

He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Detroit Tigers fan and had a passion for golf. Jerry never missed the opportunity to tell a good story or engage you in a political debate. He had a special love for his four legged companion, Molly. Jerry loved to travel, especially to the Table Rock Lake area. But above all else he will be remembered for his faith in the Lord.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Verlee Snedden; daughters, Patricia (Jeff) Farr, Teresa Hendricks, Cindy (Michael) Leaders and Stephanie (Derek) Fister; step-children, Danielle (Nate) Rowland and Aaron (Melissa) McGuire; grandchildren, Lauren, Hunter, Cody, Trenton “TJ”, Reed, Samantha, Wyatt, Riley, Grayson, Henry, Tessa, Jacob and Jordan; sister, Klaudia Kromer; beloved nieces, nephews, friends and other loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William “Lauron” Snedden.

A celebration of life will be held 12:30 pm, Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Heartland Presbyterian Church, 14300 Hickman Road in Clive. Visitation will occur from 4-7 pm, Monday, October 19, 2015 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 West town Parkway. A private family burial will be held at the Jefferson Township Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa.
