Gerald James

Gerald B. James, Sr., 74, passed away Friday, October 19, 2007 at University Park. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Faith Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, 131 9th St., West Des Moines with burial at Glendale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
Gerald was born March 6, 1933 to Charles and Jennie Mae (Bratton) James in Des Moines. He was a construction worker and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Gerald is survived by his wife Dora; children, Grace (Morgan, Sr.)Wright, Teresa (Tony) Spencer, Gerald (Valerie) James, Jr., Cardell (Casandra) James, Sr., Andrea (John) Galbreath, Ramona Mitchell, Charles (Lucinda) James, Zella (Nathan) Berry and Larry (Denise) Quinn; 36 grandchildren and 75 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Deborah, Denise, Michael and Sharon; sister, Pauline Brown; and brother, Albert Winfrey.
