Dennis C. Allen

Dennis C. Allen, 69, passed away September 14, 2015. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA with a graveside service on Monday, September 21 at 12:00 p.m. at Cass Cemetery near Webster City, IA.

Dennis was born June 13, 1946 in Webster City, IA to Leatrice (Lewis) and Dwayne Allen. He graduated from Webster City High School and worked in the insurance and banking industries, eventually working for Polk County until his retirement in 2008. Dennis enjoyed owning, driving and showing his Corvette, collecting antiques, and his morning breakfasts with his McDonald’s group. He was considered an expert and go-to-man regarding his hometown of Webster City, Iowa. He loved to collect and reminisce about its history. Dennis was also a devoted friend who kept in touch with his many friends on Facebook and in person.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 41 years, Margaret; his sister, Carol (Steven) Thelke; sister-in-law, Ellen (Jim) Becker; brother-in-law, John Cassettari; niece, Theresa Becker; nephews, Corey and Scott Thelke, Matt (Kim) Becker; great-nephews, Curtis and Jeffrey Becker, Jayden Thelke; and great-niece, Cassandra Becker. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Dwayne Allen, and Leatrice and Frank Smalley; and nephew, Curtis Becker.
