Beverly May, 74, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Saturday, September 12, 2015, surrounded by her family.
Beverly was born August 27, 1941, in Des Moines, Iowa to Claude and Juanita (Losee) Mentzer. She was supervisor of housekeeping at the Savory Hotel prior to her retirement. Beverly was a born and raised true Eastsider. What she cherished most was spending time with her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed writing letters to encourage others, writing poetry, reading her Bible, and having Friday coffee with family and friends. She was a member of Grace Church and loved holidays with her family.
Beverly is survived by her children, Morris (Sue) May of Montezuma, Linda (Sid) Cox of Ankeny, Terry May, Nancy (Robert) May, and Greg (Valerie) May, all of Des Moines, Vickie Jones of Altoona, Toni Geisler, John (Lori) May, Jim (April) May, all of Des Moines, and Mindy (Bill) Blue of Ankeny; daughter-in-law, Sandy May of Des Moines; 42 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Linda) Mentzer and Richard (Joyce Benhan) Mentzer; sister, Linda Lou (Frank) Myers; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sons, Ralph, Floyd, Gary, and Mike.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., with celebration of life service at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Grace Church, 4200 E. 25th St., Des Moines.

Our deepest thoughts and prayers to all of you. Your mother was a one of a kind person,who cared loved, cherished,adored and loved life as everyone should. She was always smiling laughing and loving everyone who walked into her life. She will be deeply deeply missed by all of us Larrisons (Johnny,Dina,Jordyn,CJ,Heather,Brandy).
