Frank Miller

Frank Miller, 86, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015. He was born November 25, 1928 in Elkhart, Iowa.
Frank was a Farm Bureau agent in Polk County for 31 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Farm Bureau Royal Court for numerous years and Hall of Fame in 1997. Frank won six All Americans, was Master Agent for two years, and served on the Advisory Council and Honor Council.
After retirement he spent several weeks in the summer fishing in Canada and enjoyed woodworking in his shop. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Julie Miller and Sherri (Pat) Harding; daughter-in-law, Kathy Miller; five grandchildren, Todd (Jonnell) Miller, Nate (Denise) Miller, Jason Welder, Jake Hamilton, and Molly (Marshall) Carruthers; seven great-grandchildren, Abbie, Cade, and Sophie Miller, Jackson, Jamison, and Juliette Carruthers, and Zack Byers; as well as his brother, Dick (Audrey) Miller.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Esther Miller; brother, Phillip Miller; and son, Larry Miller.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 17th at the funeral home.

For all of the the family, my condolences. Frank was quite a fireball and I'm glad I knew him. As an insurance man, he made a huge difference in my life and for that I'm forever thankful. As for his jokes, ahh I'm a bit slow on the uptake. I'm blond, you know!
