Jasmine Cunningham
September 05, 2015
Jasmine Leah Jael Cunningham was born May 23, 2011 to LaVita and Willie Cunningham. She struggled for six and a half weeks in the NICU. Doctors did not expect her to make it, but glory to the grace of God, He let us have Ms. Jassy for four years three months. We are grateful for time to bond with her, to know her, and to love her. She has gone on to rest in Jesus, passing on Saturday, September 5, 2015.
Jasmine’s mommy describes her as a caterpillar that has changed into an everlasting butterfly. She impacted a lot of people’s lives with her love and her big beautiful smile. She loved to praise God with no shame. No disability held this little butterfly down. She was as normal as they come in her spirit.
Jasmine loved her daddy. They liked to watch Doc McStuffins, play games, and be silly. They would dance at church during the prayer service. Willie describes his daughter as brave and smart. She changed his life and gave him something to hope for and he loved coming home to her every day.
She is survived by her mother, LaVita Cunningham; her father, Willie Cunningham; her sister, Janiyah Cunningham; grandpa, Bobby Franklin and grandparents, Willie Cunningham Sr. and Tommie Cunningham; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends, and so many more who love her. Rest in Jesus, Jasmine Leah Jael Cunningham.
She is greeted in heaven by her grandmas, Brenda Anderson and Ruby Franklin; and her brothers, Anthony and Ty Cunningham.
Services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines with visitation prior from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Jasmine will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery.
