Willetta Marie (Atkinson) Faux was born October 31, 1924 in Palo Alto County, Iowa to Harvey and Lettie (Gray) Atkinson. She passed away at Sierra Health Care Center in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico on Monday, August 17, 2015 at the age of 90.

Willetta is survived by her children, Jane (Dean) Day, E. James (Eileen) Faux, Janet (Jan) Bennett, Carolyn Faux, Gene (Kaye) Faux, David (Shellee) Faux, Tim (Sally) Faux, and John Faux, 26 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and her sisters, Elva Hodges and Wilma Lorine Lynch. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edwin Faux, daughters, Ruth and Marilyn Faux, and her other siblings.

Willetta loved playing BINGO and crafting. She had a generous heart and always enjoyed giving things that she made to family members. She had an active mind and always wanted to learn something new, no matter what her age. Willetta camped at the Iowa State Fair for many years and liked bringing along grandchildren to share in the experience.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Family will begin greeting friends at 9:00 a.m., with funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Clinton-Garfield Cemetery in Rolfe, Iowa.
