Service Details
Laura Jean Ascheman, 54, peacefully passed on, August 13, 2015. Services will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Urbandale on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. also at the church. Burial will occur at Oakland Cemetery in Sac City, Iowa at 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 17.
Laura was born on August 27, 1960 in Sac City to Gene and Margaret (Larson) Schramm. She graduated from Sac City High School in 1978 and began her career in the banking and mortgage industry. Laura worked for Citibank, Principal and Wells Fargo, and also maintained her real estate license.
She is survived by her husband, Chad Hobbiebrunken; daughter, Nicole Ascheman; stepsons, Bradley and Daniel Hobbiebrunken; parents, Gene and Margaret Schramm; siblings, Lynn (Paul) Hays, Michael Schramm, and Mark (Brenda) Schramm; grandchildren, Amelia and Annalise; and many nieces and nephews.

I had the privilege of working with Laura at Wells Fargo. She is missed by so many friends here. Her life will be well represented by the countless friends and family that are gathering to celebrate and remember Laura today...May you find some comfort in knowing how many lives she touched and in your happy memories of her.

I feel so blessed to have known Laura through work. She was such a loving person who always talked about her family. She started meetings by asking about our family and ourselves - she cared about us outside of work and we cared about her. I am going to miss her laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with Laura's family and friends during this difficult time.

To Chad and family,
Laura was my friend and manager at Wells Fargo. We traveled a lot together and had many fun adventures. She loved talking about her family and how much fun she had at the lake. She was a beautiful person inside and out. My heart and prayers go out to you during this sad time and times ahead.

Nikki you may not remember me but I knew your mom when your dad and I played softball together in West Des Moines back in the mid to late 80's. I always thought she was fantastic person and always love having her to hang out with. God Bless your family in this time of loss and may God ease your pain and sorrow.
