My Cousin Luke, you were the first person I ever lifted weights with, went to a boxing gym with, and bet on a sporting event(Tyson/Douglas for $5 or $10...and I won because I liked the name Buster! Lol) with. When we first moved to Havasu I was your little buddy and although you did not stay here long I will always remember you teaching me weights and some boxing. You were such a gentle person and good cousin for a young kid, thank you for those memories as a little boy. You are free now and can be an even better protector as your spirit journeys into another place.
Love,
Cousin John

What a shock when Lila called me with the sad news. You were found in bed like your Dad at age 40. You were anxious to enter this world as I remember your birth in a cab in downtown Des Moines on the way to the hospital. You were a rather small youngster and attended St. Pius Parochial School but always interested in sports, martial arts, ice hockey, and boxing. I bought you your first boxing gloves [red]. I recall your many visits to Lake Havasu where your Mother and I lived in the same complex. You would rise early as did I and we would have morning coffee together.

My heart is heavy with the loss of my nephew and the terrible pain my sister must feel. My memories of Luke are far too few but I have one that keeps coming up that I shall cherish forever. We were sitting on a picnic table by the beach in Havasu. Luke was sitting across from me eating a chicken leg. Either Amy or Alison wrapped their arms around him from behind and said "hey cousin! " Luke was facing me and got a great big smile on his face with a mouth full of chicken. At that moment, he knew he was loved. Love and prayers,
Uncle Larry

I'm really sad that we missed you, Luke. Having worked with you and known you for several years, I was shocked when I heard your early departure. I do always remember your kindness, your smiles, and, of course, your great love to your mother.
Lila, you are one of a kind and exceptional mother whose care and love for her son is limitless. Sorry with your loss.

Oh my beloved son. I am going to miss you so much. We've had our trials and tribulations and our fun and loving times with each other over the years but we always had that one constant gift and that was our love for one another. You will always be in my heart. You are now on the most wonderful of journeys and forever free. I love you. Mom
