Larry "Red" Ramer
August 10, 2015
Larry “Red” Ramer, 67, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2015, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was born on November 4, 1947.
Red made a lifelong career as a truck driver. He was currently working part-time as a delivery driver for Napa Auto Parts and was a truck driver for JMT for 18 years.
Red was his grandchildren’s #1 fan, always attending their various activities. He took great pride in his yard and spent many hours on his deck enjoying the outdoors. Red loved playing slots on the computer and fishing, but above all, Red treasured his family and friends and their time spent together. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Red is survived by his loving wife of almost 25 years, Linda; daughters, Tracie (Mike) Kirkpatrick, Tammie (Kevin Ghee) Pennington, and Torie (Donovan Valentine) Bassett; grandchildren, Preston, Landon, Hiliary, Hunter, Lexie, and LillyAnn; sister, Linda (Dave) Rapp; brother, Paul (Carol) Ramer; his loving Pomeranian, Miss Pistal; as well as a host of other loving family and countless friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., with a memorial service beginning at 6:00 p.m., on Monday, August 17, 2015, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Red.

My condolences go out to Linda and the whole family. Red will be missed by many. He meant so much to so many people because of his huge heart. I always knew that I could count on Red. He was a dedicated employee, one I always considered a friend. He and Linda, along with a handful of other's always worked so hard organizing our company picnic, which I appreciated so much. It brought us together as a family of sorts. Until we meet again, rest in peace.
