Service Details

Brian David Rogan, 33, passed away July 11th, 2015, at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, Iowa. He was born August 20th, 1981, in Ames, Iowa.

Brian's greatest joys in life were making music, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his girls and his cats. Brian spent his life singing--whether he was on stage, in the shower, cruising with his friends or on his bike, and especially in the end, singing lullabies to his girls--he had an amazing gift to share with the world. The gift that brought him comfort throughout his life will now comfort his loved ones after his death, as he lives on through the music he left behind.

Despite having such talent, Brian felt his greatest accomplishment in life was being a father. He loved his daughters fiercely; the light in his eyes was never so bright as when he was with them or when sharing tales of their latest accomplishments. Brian cherished the time he spent with his girls and was never happier than when he could just be his goofy self around his family. Even when he was unable to be near, his family was always close to his heart, and he carried his favorite photos with him until his dying day. His legacy lives on through his children and the unending love of his family.

Brian was also fortunate to find his second home when he became a part of the Midwest Mattress family. He had the privilege of spending his days at work beside his best friends. Because they were so close, he rarely missed an opportunity to remind them just how much he was beating everyone in sales. He was as gifted at his job as he was with music and his presence will be greatly missed.

Brian is survived by his wife, Lyndsey; daughters, Caidence (11), Alanna (3) and Ava (2); father, David (Sherry) Rogan; mother, Brenda Rogan; siblings, Jonathan (Kassandra) Rogan, Benjamin Rogan, and Lindsey (Taylor) Hohulin; maternal grandfather, Donald Wiele; and his paternal grandparents, Donald and Betty Rogan, and lifelong friend, Mike (Robin) Durby. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Marsha Wiele.

Rest in Peace, Brian. We are deeply saddened by your sudden loss, yet grateful that your suffering in this earthly life has come to an end. We will hold you in our hearts forever.

A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 18th, 2015, at Hamilton's near Highland Memorial Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with visitation beginning at 1pm.
