Mary Louise James

Mary James, 81, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 and Polk City Nursing and Rehab, which she lovingly considered her home. She was born May 20, 1934 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Mary was a retired employee of small business administration. Since retirement she has devoted her life to her family and loved ones. Mary was a selfless, caring, extremely kind, and loving woman. She had fought a courageous battle with breast cancer and survived. She was known for her bubbly, happy personality and being tenderhearted. Later in life she found her home at Polk City Nursing and Rehab, where she found friendship and comfort. The family thanks them for their wonderful care. She will be missed by many.
She is survived by her children, Darla (Dave) Newton, Robert James, Ellen (Jeff Grim) James; sister, Betty Donahue; grandchildren, Tammy, Amber, Zachary, and Levi; 11 great-grandchildren; and 5 great- great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mildred; step-father, Orville Johnson; brothers, Richard, LeRoy, and William.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 .m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. Followed by a private family burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

The loss of such a loved one is always a hard thing to go through. Remember her with her smile. She was always happy and made you happy. Going to miss her. She had a sparkle in her eyes that you could not miss.
