Norma Smith, 82, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015. She was born March 28, 1933 in Des Moines to Everet and Nina Beebe. Norma’s greatest joy in life was her family.

Those left behind to celebrate her memory are, her children, Michael (Jeannine) McDaniel, Valerie (Robert) Burgett, Deb (Richard) Petty, Terry McAlpine, Rodney (Debra) Smith, and Debbie Shannon; 18 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Smith; daughter, Pat Hodina; and brother, Donald Beebe.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 13, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by a memorial service that will begin at 12 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines.

Donations in her name may be directed to either Ovarian Cancer Research Fund or Shriners Hospital.
