Dakota Lee McDonald, age 13, lost his battle with brain cancer and passed away at 11:41 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Blank Hospital. Dakota was very loving and always had a smile on his face. He attended Hoyt Middle School when he was in 6th and 7th grade, until he couldn’t go anymore. He was preceded in death by a sister and brother. Dakota is survived by his dad and mom, Ron and Carolyn McDonald, four brothers: Ronnie, Jacob, Corey, and Jonathon, two sisters: Tammy Shehan and Shyann McDonald, many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 13, also at Hamilton’s, with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

So sorry for your loss, may he be with the lord to watch over him. I can only remember him as a little guy . He was shy, but when you were around for a while he would let you play with him. May he rest in peace.. Will be thinking of you all at this time of your loss.
