Thomas Gerard Hayes was born May 12, 1949 in Alamosa, CO to Thomas “Elmo” and Margaret “Peggy” Hayes. He enjoyed gardening, car races, and hanging out with his dogs, Clyde and Red.
He passed away peacefully Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Taylor House Hospice surrounded by the love of family.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of life potluck at Grandview Park, 3230 Easton Blvd, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Pam Seaman-Hayes; children, Kellie Hayes (Anthony Clark), Brian Seaman, and Amy (Adam) Penny; grandchildren, Devan, Shailyn, LaShya, KayLeigh, Jackson, and Malia; nephews, Jon, Chris, and Jimbo; uncle and aunt, Norm and Jean Butorac; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kathy Campbell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to UnityPoint Taylor House Hospice.

So sorry to hear of Tom's passing. I worked with him at the VA office at the Federal building. He was always so friendly and never failed to speak to me.
My condolences to his family. He was a terrific guy!!
