Pieng Van Lo

Pieng Van Lo, age 84, died Saturday, July 4, 2015 at 6:18 p.m. at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

Pieng was born August 1, 1930 in Lai Chau, Vietnam. His parents were Nom Van Lo and Suoi Thi Lo. He was a career military person, serving in Army, Commando of the Airborne Special Unit, for over 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, Dam Thi Dang; oldest son, Jim Son Lo; daughter, Tiffany Nguyen; daughter, Stacy Huynh; daughter, Hien Lo; sons-in-law, Jimmy Nguyen, Steven Huynh, and Dennis Delgado; grandchildren, Huyen Mac Thi Lo, Christina Nguyen, Jordan Nguyen, and Alexia Nhu Huynh; and great-granddaughter, Kim Dang.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 9, also at the funeral home, followed by cremation. Burial of cremated remains will take place at Resthaven Cemetery Friday, July 10.
