Betty Lee Hesseltine

Betty Hesseltine, 83, of Des Moines passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. Betty was born February 23, 1932 to Irene (Bass) and Paul Stolte in Dodge Township in Boone County.
Betty graduated from Luther Consolidated Schools in 1950. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading prior to her losing her eye site, after which she listened to books on audio. She also enjoyed cooking and going on picinics.
She is survived by her son, Randy (Cheryl) Barton; daughter, Vickie
(Robert) Withers; brothers, Norman (Donna) Stolte, Paul (Sandy) Stolte, both of Boone and Charles (Edna) Stolte of Des Moines; sisters, Peggy (Warren) Scott of Stratford and Patricia (Ron) Frette of Boone; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and beloved friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents; and son, Rodney Barton.

Randy, Cheryl and family: We all cherish our memories of your Mom. She was not only my sister, but my best friend. I will miss our telephone calls and her laugh. We know she is in a peaceful place.

Sorry for your loss.
I thought I knew Betty from a brief period in which she worked for Principal Financial Group and traveled back and forth from Boone. Her husband was in a wheelchair. Maybe this was not her, but still sorry to hear of her passing.
